The Turku Christian Institute Foundation operates as the administrator of Linnasmäki Institute and owns Conference Hotel Linnasmäki Ltd. During its long history
(founded in 1925), the Turku Christian Institute has accumulated art. The foundation has acquired and received artworks totaling approximately 100 pieces. In Linnasmäki’s public spaces, 25 works owned by the foundation are on display.
The E.W. Ponkala Foundation has placed 67 works in Linnasmäki’s premises, of which 42 are on display in public spaces. In doing so, it follows the foundation’s charter principle that “…the main prerequisite for the success of individuals, as well as the entire nation, is each individual’s developed personality…”.
This purpose naturally aligns with the educational mission of Linnasmäki Institute, which operates as a folk high school. The Turku Christian Institute Foundation has the privilege of displaying the E.W. Ponkala Foundation’s art
alongside its own collection.
In addition to Linnasmäki, the Ponkala Foundation has placed works from its art collection at the Aineén Art Museum in Tornio and at Aalto University.
