Activities at Linnasm\u00e4ki<\/h3>\n[\/nectar_responsive_text][vc_column_text css=”” text_direction=”default”]Linnasm\u00e4ki’s own nature trail<\/strong> circles 1.5 km in the surrounding nearby forest. Go out into nature to listen to birdsong or just to relax. <\/p>\n

Linnasm\u00e4ki’s popular 6-hole disc golf course<\/strong> winds through the nearby terrain. Discs and course maps can be borrowed free of charge from our reception. <\/p>\n

From Linnasm\u00e4ki’s yard, you can directly access the fitness trail<\/strong>, along which you can take walks of various lengths. In winters with heavy snow, the fitness trail serves as a ski track. We also have a few walking poles that can be borrowed from our reception. <\/p>\n

You’ll find the ping pong table<\/strong> under the canopy of the main entrance, and it’s available year-round. During summer, you can play ping pong outdoors by borrowing rackets and a ball from our reception. We also lend M\u00f6lkky and other outdoor and board games. <\/p>\n

It’s wonderful to cycle<\/strong> to the city center along the beautiful riverside or go for a longer ride. Bikes can be rented from our reception from May to September. <\/p>\n

In the common area on the 3rd floor of the hostel, there’s a book and magazine shelf<\/strong> where you can borrow or exchange books and magazines. <\/p>\n

In summer, we open a small play corner for children where they can draw, read, play, and watch television. Near the city center and towards the harbor, you’ll find several cultural sites and environmental art pieces. The Aura River Information Center Myll\u00e4rintalo is located only 2 kilometers from Linnasm\u00e4ki. You can rent a canoe from them or participate in a guided canoeing trip. <\/p>\n

The outdoor islands<\/a> are located in the Turku archipelago, and day trips are organized to them. The story combines myths of Finnish women turning into swans and Scottish and Greenlandic selkie and sealskin stories. <\/p>\n

The Swan Maiden’s Tale<\/em> invites listeners to ponder what happens if our wings are taken away. There are times in our lives when we have to put ourselves and our creativity aside because our attention is needed elsewhere. We endure it, as long as we know we’ll be able to dance, sing, paint, play, or whatever it is we need to do to be ourselves again. <\/p>\n

During this interactive session suitable for the whole family, we dive into the meaningful characters and stories of our folklore and spell tradition through the methods of live storytelling and nature education. The dramatically progressing activity, which includes various tasks, explores the relationship between humans and nature and survival there – while being inspired by our rich storytelling tradition. <\/p>\n

The session is led by Anna-Maria Toivonen<\/a> (storyteller-folk music pedagogue) and Niina Heikkil\u00e4<\/a> (nature and wilderness guide and drama educator).
