Linnasmäki Oy wants to offer its guests an experience where sustainable development covers the entire operation and is a natural part of daily work. We are committed to preventing and reducing the environmental impact of our operations and we work actively to promote sustainability. Four-pronged sustainability has been elevated to the core of our organization's strategy.

We reduce our carbon footprint ( ecological sustainability ). Our biggest direct environmental impact comes from the consumption of energy and water - and that's why our customers are also our most important partners in our efforts towards reasonable use and consumption. We strive to minimize the generation of waste and improve its sorting. We use 100% renewable electricity, environmentally friendly products and resource-efficient technology. In our purchases, we emphasize organic and eco-labelled seasonal products and foodstuffs. We minimize food waste. The cleaning and washing agents and tissue paper we use are eco-labelled.

We work social sustainability in our region for the benefit of both our staff and our customers. Social sustainability starts from the equal and equal treatment of people. In our operations, we promote transparency, fairness, and address any grievances, abuse, or harassment we detect.

Our company's work environment is safe and risk and crisis management is taken into account in our operations. We train our staff systematically. We communicated to both our staff and our customers about our sustainable development activities in order to increase environmental awareness and commitment. As an employer and company, we act responsibly ( financial and social sustainability ).

Linnasmäki Oy wants to be at the forefront of creating a sustainable tourism industry and inspires other operators, customers and personnel to participate in sustainable development activities. We draw things from our own history and Finnish culture that we hope will bring our customers joy, refreshment, rest, something to remember and pass on ( cultural sustainability ).

Green Key is an international tourism industry responsibility certificate whose criteria is based on the UN's sustainable development goals, and contains requirements related to reducing the environmental load, increasing social benefits and supporting the local economy. Green Key is also a responsibility program: participating companies commit to the continuous development of their operations and report on it in connection with the annual extension application.

The Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) program offers companies and travel destinations a toolkit for the development of sustainable tourism, which makes it easier to adopt sustainable measures and choices in the everyday life of a region or company. Companies and destinations that have gone through the program and meet the criteria are awarded the Sustainable Travel Finland label, which is used to communicate sustainable operations to international tourists. Companies and regions that have received the mark will have access to a continuous development model, the latest information related to the sustainable development of tourism, as well as marketing support and additional visibility on Visit Finland's channels.

We reduce the environmental impact of our operations - we are committed to reducing the carbon footprint caused by our operations by at least 5% by 2025
